Some of you may know that we’re part of a portfolio of countryside properties attched the Ightam Mote; a picturesque moated manor house near Ightham, Sevenoaks, Kent. Whilst the house and gardens are definitely worth a visit the estate really is special for those who love the outdoors.
A short walk from the house and you can find ourself atop the greensand hills with vistas South over the Weald and North to the Downs. Much of the estate is managed as coppice woodland with a number of springs which feed the Medway river. With (paid) carparking and cafe facilities Ightham Mote is an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area of orchards, farmland and quaint villages with a fine selection of pubs.
The ranger there has recently started a blog which showcases the wildlife present on the estate and the work that goes into maintaining the conservation value of the Estate and surrounding National Trust properties. The link can be found below:
