Over the last week we have continued to make improvements to poor stretches of path. This type of work is all about timing – to do the job efficiently and well we need to use our tractors to transport stone and other materials. If there has been wet weather we can end up causing damage to path surfaces with vehicles in the act of improving other areas.
So, we have to wait for windows of opportunity and this week has been once such window. We took delivery of another twenty tonnes of stone – this may sound like a lot but it can be used up very quickly. This week we concentrated on a couple of areas that lay very wet during the winter months, specifically in the south west corner of the Edlmann Wood and to the south of Soldier’s Field. We have scraped out any existing mud or loose material, then put down a layer of stone to give a firmer surface. If the weather holds we will hopefully improve a few more paths in the Willett Wood next week.
